The Start of the Project "From Beirut Suburbs to the Nation"

Recruiting the Youth
The first main activity of this project was recruiting 50 youth to join the project and at certain point to carry it. The communication with the youth that had joined CitiAct previously took place through e-mails, facebook and calls. A brief introduction on the new project was given in this communication and a request was sent to join the launching event to know more about the project. Furthermore, the youth was asked to bring their friends, who they think might be interested in this project and who have never had experience in civil society work.
We have on the list of recruited youth now a number of 53 youth from Chiah, Sfeir, Haret Hreik, Bourj Al Barajneh, Ain El Remmaneh and Hadath – 28 males and 25 females – between the age of 15 and 31 – students and workers.

Introducing the Project to the Youth
First Session: Date: Wednesday the 14th of November 2012 / Time: 5:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m.
Second Session: Date: Monday the 19th of November 2012 / Time: 5:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m.
The project was launched through 2 different sessions, enclosing 53 youth; CitiAct team had presented the project through a powerpoint presentation and space was given to questions, answers and general discussions. In the sessions, the youth filled application stating their contact details and personal information.
